Instructions on how to install skins and mods in Dota 2

To create an inventory and generate a pack for dota 2, you need to register on our website, then choose your favorite skins in the catalog here.

Installing skins via Launcher for Windows

Step 1. Preparation

Create an account on the website and download our launcher.
If the program does not open, install jre1.8.0.msi, the file is in the launcher archive.
Choose your favorite skins in the catalog and add them to your inventory.

Step 2. Launch

Open the launcher.
If Windows Defender blocks the launch: click "More info" → "Run anyway".
Click the button Install Skins.
Wait for the download to complete. A window will appear with a list of installed skins.

If the launcher is frozen: If the message 'Not Responding' appears — do not click anything. The program is installing files, this may take some time.

Step 3. Done

After the 'Success' window appears, launch Dota 2 in any way convenient for you.

🧢 Important: Undress the hero in the game (remove all skins) before launching Dota with our pack, otherwise the skins may not appear.

Skins replace the standard models. To see the mod, go to the game's arsenal and remove all equipped items from the character.

If the green button goes out and the 'Success' window does not appear — try again. Or use mod installation without a launcher on the website.

Step 1. Pack Preparation

Choose skins in the catalog and add them to your inventory.
Click the "Generate Mods" button.
Wait 1-2 minutes and download the ready archive.

Download and open the VPK Manager program (links below).
Drag the archive (pack) downloaded from the site directly into the program window.
Click the "Install" button in the application.
Done! You can launch the game.

⚡ Method 2: Automatic (.bat)

Unzip the downloaded archive to any folder.
Run the fileInstallModsDota.bat from the same folder.
If Windows Defender blocks the launch: click "More info" → "Run anyway".
After installation, Dota will launch itself.

🛠 Fix Matchmaking:
If after installation the game does not search for a match - run the FixMatchMaking.bat file from the same folder.

📂 Method 3: Manually

For experienced users.

Find the game folder:
Extract the archive contents into the game folder, confirming file replacement.

🍎 macOS: Do not replace folders entirely! Copy files into folders manually or choose the 'Merge' option, otherwise the game will break.

Problem:
I want to remove skins, how?

Solution:
Method 1 - Go to the folder (../dota 2 beta/game/Dota2SkinChanger/) and delete the pak01_dir.vpk file in it

Method 2 - Clean DotA from extraneous files, you can also use Steam...
Go to Steam -> right click on Dota2 -> Properties -> Local Files -> Verify Integrity of Game Files...

🔰 How to find the DotA folder?

Problem:
How to find the DotA folder through Steam?

Solution: Go to Steam -> Then on the left, where the list of games, press the RIGHT mouse button on Dota 2 -> Press PROPERTIES -> Then the 'Installed files' tab -> click on the Browse button... -> the folder where Dota is installed will open on your computer.

You can additionally add other items with effects to a ready set or megapack, separately added parts on characters will be displayed instead of parts from the sets.
